CENELEC has a new process for the approval of New Work items for standardization deliverables

In October 2023, the CENELEC Technical Board (CLC/BT) agreed on a new process to be followed for the approval of New Work Items (NWIs), not requiring any longer the formal approval of the BT. It is going to be implemented via new IT tools aiming at facilitating operations and reducing errors.

The new process will concern not only European Standards, but also other deliverables, such as homegrown Technical Specifications (TSs) and Technical Reports (TRs), for which the BT decided to allow Technical Committees greater flexibility in planning their work.

The details of the new CENELEC process have been shared in a dedicated presentation. The recording is available at this link: Webinar for CENELEC TBOs - New process for the approval of NWI, including TS & TR - Experts CENELEC

Starting from today, CENELEC Technical Body Officers will be able to start using the new CLC NWI online form to fill all information concerning New Work Items that will be subject to approval via eVoting system.

The CENELEC NWI online form is available via the Technical Body Dashboard.

Interested Technical Body Officers are invited to contact their CCMC Programme Manager for more information or support.
